You have come to this page either through a search that is specific, or, you have clicked on a link (Google Adsense) from another page or web site. Either way, your here because you want to be here not because you were tricked. It's no good trying to trick your customer. Your customer needs to find what their looking for or you will lose them almost instantly along with their trust.
Be specific about your product and clear about what will happen when they click a link.

GOOGLE AND TRAFFIC
Google and Google Adsense is the biggest internet search engine and ad server on earth! Yahoo and MSN together still don't measure up to Google. So all your tweaking for traffic and customers should be geared towards Google. You have to let Google know that you have a particular product by the use of keywords. If somebody searches for a problem fix, or a product, you have to have that search term in your Keywords and/or your page description. Google will then start to send traffic from searches to your pages if it feels your content is relative and up to date. The other way is to present information to your existing customers via a link to another page on your site. That is how you narrow your traffic. If your click through link for Dog Shampoo is on your front page, and your web site is about Work Related Stress, your traffic click through rate will be as much as ZILCH. Your link must be relative to your site, your keywords and your content. If your site is about work related stress, try to think of products that will compliment Work Related Stress for your pay per click ads. Do your own search for your web site theme and see what relates to it. Get creative and do a Google search with different words or phrases and check to see what Google Adsense Ads are shown.. Most people search with phrases not singular words so keep that in mind. You'll be very surprise by the results.

I bet the sites that came up on the search aren't set up correctly for their Google Adsense Ads and are showing irrelevant ads.

The other way to increase traffic for your pay per click campaign is through links from other sites. Links are the hardest to do. You can easily fiddle your keywords, easily fiddle your page content, but you can't just make or fiddle your links. And Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc., use these links to assess your contents. If you have a Retirement Living web site but your links are from porn or hacking sites your links will have a negative effect. You need relative links IE:-
Social Groups - Clubs and Recreation Centres, Charity Organisations, Grand Parent Groups, Medical Aids, Community Awareness Sites. Etc.

Links are the most time consuming task you'll have. Getting good links is even harder. Try Joining Link Exchange sites but be very picky. The link to your site may not end up where you think it should. Some site owners are putting your reciprocal links on other sites. They get a link from your site and you get a link from another of their sites which is totally irrelevant.

Try placing comments on other sites that are relevant to yours and include your site link in your signature.(Very good one way relevant links)
Do a search for link exchange sites and affiliate programme info sites...........
